La Galerie Dior, 30 Montaigne, Paris
Backed by the mythical Dior boutique on 30 Avenue Montaigne, that just reopened after two years of work, is La Galerie Dior, which traces the House’s 70-year history.
Like a dreamlike museum where all dreams are allowed, La Galerie Dior immerses us in the archives of Mr Christian Dior, as well as his predecessors, Yves Saint Laurent, Marc Bohan, Gianfranco Ferré, John Galliano, Raf Simons and currently Maria Grazia Chiuri.
From the beginning of the scenographic journey, signed by Nathalie Crinière, we are captivated by the grandiosity of the works created by Mr Christian Dior and the legacy of the House.
Indeed, more than 4000 miniatures representing the iconic creations of the House are exhibited, like a rainbow (dresses, bags, shoes, hats, gloves, coats…), on the 3 floors of the central staircase wall.
We also discover the famous Tailleur Bar, created in 1947 as well as drawings, the reconstituted office of Mr Dior, a whole collection of flower dresses and the grandiose room dedicated to ballroom dresses, staged by magical light plays.
At the end of the journey, a Dior café was even designed to close this enchanted parenthesis with little treats.
